Nope, no option to bind any key to a 3rd/1st person toggle. #10. Major.Pain Jul 25, 2018 @ 3:35am. Its a puzzle why there is no 'Hotkey' to switch between 3rd/1st, it could be easily added if there is enough to call for it. To reach beyond the stars, you can’t simply point your ship at a planet and expect it to reach the surface safely. A botched landing can result in significant damage to your spacecraft. Luckily, the mechanical action of landing in No Man’s Sky is easy. Here’s how to do it: On PC: Press “E”. On PS4: Press “Square”.
First on foot. 3rd on a animal or in a ship. 3rd all the time for both, unless I want to get a better look while building or walking around, then I'll switch to first. But first person in the ship just gets too confusing. 3rd person all the way, except in derelict freighters.

Always first person unless I'm getting a cool screenshot. I've tried flying, landing, fighting in 3rd, and it feels so clunky and unnatural. Fly 3rd with a controller.
